Moms - Empower yourself with Nutrition
Empowering women is not just about breaking the glass ceiling but also about breaking the cycle of neglect. It is, therefore, important to start with ourselves. Real strength has to come from within and what is the basis of that strength? It is nutrition.
Women have been doing it all—caring for their families, working, and meeting everyone’s needs for far too long. But how can you give what you don’t have? We need to feed our bodies the right foods in order to be able to go after our dreams, face challenges, and most importantly take care of our family.
In juggling too many roles, I neglected myself

Being a working professional and mother of two little ones (my eldest son is 11 and my cute girl is 7), I feel constantly busy all the time. For me, life has always been a crazy blend of work, home, family, and trying to find time for myself in the chaos.
At some point along the way, like most women, I stopped taking care of myself a few months before. I came decreasingly exhausted on the face, and began feeling fatigue all day, and had pain in my legs every time. Fulfilling my duty as a mother and several other roles as a woman we all have to do, it was getting tough.
Then I realised - We cannot pour from an empty cup
The reality is, we can not pour from an empty mug. So without a supportive family and eating healthy along with self care we women cannot flourish.
Empowerment is deciding to be better, stronger and healthy

According to me, as a Clinical Dietitian - A healthy diet should include proteins, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals as this helps in regulating hormones, enhancing mental performance and overall body functions. Nutrition is essential to prevent stress, lifestyle diseases such as PCOS and osteoporosis, improve gut health and boost the immune system for the long run. Empowerment is deciding what to eat that will make us better, stronger and healthy. It is about being aware of what one is eating, taking care of oneself, and setting a good example for the future generations of women.
Let's feed ourselves first before feeding our family
This Women’s Month, I say, let’s take the time to feed ourselves so that we can keep on keeping on. A woman who gets enough food is invincible!
